Psalm 63 is raw: “My soul thirsts for you… my flesh faints for you…” Just like the Psalmist, Agnes Ozman’s hunger for the Lord is admirable. Ask yourself, “Do I long for more of the Holy Spirit in my life?” Write down an earnest prayer to the Lord about your longing for Him. (And know this: If you feel your hunger for the Lord is not enough, simply ask Him to fill your heart with longing for Him because the Holy Spirit is the one who creates longing for God in our hearts.)

As Agnes Ozman earnestly sought the Lord, she learned to wait for Him with expectation just as the disciples waited “for the promise of the Father” (Acts 1:4). As we join together these ten days, we are invited into that same posture - waiting expectantly for the Holy Spirit to come and move as He wills and when He wills. Realizing that this invitation is for every one of us, take some time to think and pray about it. Write a response to God’s invitation to wait expectantly for the move of the Holy Spirit.

Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you prayerfully read James 5:7-8 - “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” Write down what the Lord highlighted to you.

Heather Khym shared about a moment in her life when her heart was in pain and she yearned for a touch from God. Even though she felt that she was “no one to be noticed,” God powerfully revealed to her that He sees her and loves her. Do you personally know that God sees you and loves you? If you answer “yes,” write down how God revealed those truths to you. Was it through Scripture, an experience, another person, etc? If you answer “no,” write down a prayer asking God to reveal His love for you.

Daily Scripture
“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1).
“And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, ‘you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now’” (Acts 1:4-5).
